MSI GE76 Raider Review Best Gaming Laptop in 2022

MSI GE76 Raider Review Best Gaming Laptop in 2022: As well as boasting the latest and greatest components, premium laptops often excite enthusiasts. Our best gaming laptops list has been featuring the MSI GE76 Raider and this incarnation comes with the Intel Core i9-12900HK and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, which are the best processors and GPUs available from each manufacturer.

Compared with last year’s model, CPU and GPU performance has improved, with the former particularly noteworthy. However, I think that the new model is far more appealing for those wanting a few years.

The Raider should excite you with its powerful gaming performance, a selection of ports, and a light bar that either does or does not annoy you when it’s on.

The MSI GE76 Raider’s  laptops graphics  and  gaming capabilities

A person who is looking for the latest gaming laptop is most concerned about the compatibility of its Intel Core i9-12900K and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics cards. There isn’t a lot of difference between the RTX 3080 and last year’s RTX 3080 if you already have the 11th Gen Intel.

Playing Halo Infinite’s campaign on the Raider’s ultra-quality preset was an enjoyable experience. At 1080p (the display’s native resolution), the game generally ran at 130 frames per second, but could occasionally reach 160 frames per second. The preset was switched to low when it switched to multiplayer, pushing around 200 fps.

At its highest settings, the Raider G76 equipped with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 was capable of running Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 112 frames per second, which is six frames better than last year’s model with an Intel Core i9-11900HK processor and GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card. Furthermore, it outperformed the Intel Core i7-1800H and RTX 3080 of the Alienware X17 R1 (77 fps) as well as the Ryzen 9 5900HX of the Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 G733 (92 fps).

Display of  MSI GE76 Raider

Our testing involved a 1080p, 360 Hz display for the MSI GE76 Raider. The Core i9-12900HK and GeForce RTX 3080 Ti are usually paired with a 4K 120Hz panel or a 2560 x 1440p 240Hz panel as of publication, so take this section as a test of the display we currently have. The RTX 3080 Ti is better suited for higher-resolution displays unless you’re looking to play esports, as you won’t hit 360 Hz at 1080p. Higher resolutions are better!

It comes in either a 17.3-inch or 16:9 screen configuration. As a result, MSI should seriously consider 16:10 resolution for its flagship gaming laptop so that it can cater to the needs of creators and possibly free up some of the space currently taken up by the bottom bezel.

It was encouraged by Halo Infinite’s lush green fields and blue skies, which made me want summer to arrive as soon as possible. It would have been nice if there had been more brightness in gaming, but anyone can still be able to play.

With both the ROG Strix Scar 17 and last year’s Raider having similar color gamuts, Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 provides 100% coverage of the sRGB and 74.5 percent coverage of DCI-P3. With an sRGB gamut of 164% and a DCI-P3 gamut of 116.2%, the Alienware x17 exceeded expectations.

Light meter measurements showed 259 nits of average brightness for the Raider display. Compared to last year’s model, this is significantly less than 319 nits. Despite being comparable to the Alienware x17 as far as brightness goes, it was in its own league.

The display’s brightness wasn’t a major issue for me because I didn’t have any particular problems with it. MSI should maintain prior levels in this respect at least, and providing the option is better than not having it.

The MSI GE76 Raider software and warranty

Software from MSI is a mixed bag. In there are some useful apps, but there are also a few that have questionable utility.

Several years ago, MSI Dragon Center was slowly replaced by MSI Center. As well as monitoring your hardware and adjusting performance modes, you can visually check speeds and feeds. In addition, it comes with an enormous number of optional modules, some of which double as additional features of other software.

Android apps can be run on Windows with MSI App Player. Similar to BlueStacks, which contributed to the development of MSI’s apps. As Windows 11’s Android app support grows, this will be less and less useful.

Furthermore, MSI True Color allows users to choose between a variety of display presets, which includes anti-blue light, gaming, and movies. First-person shooter games can also be played with a crosshair on the screen.

If you’re comfortable with the output that Windows Defender offers, you should probably get rid of Norton Security. My system was overloaded by the free trial and I even had to disable it in order for Windows to update. In addition, I don’t understand how Music Maker Jam got on here.

Typical of Windows OSes, it comes with pre-installed software or links to the Microsoft Store, which include Amazon Prime Video,  Spotify,Tik Tok,  Disney Plus, Facebook, and Instagram. MSI provides one-year warranty on the MSI GE76 Raider.

This means that the fans have to work overtime to keep these components cool. This laptop is, however, quite loud compared to most. You will probably have less difficulty with this if you have a headset or loudspeakers.

Conclusion- MSI GE76 Raider

In terms of performance (and particularly in terms of processor performance), the new MSI GE76 Raider combines the Intel Core i9-12900HK with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti to provide a step forward in gaming laptops.

For those looking for something more portable and svelte than a traditional desktop, the Raider provides ample ports and storage, along with a striking RGB light bar.
